Multi-photo videos (reference)

Reference mode builds a video from several photos instead of one. Add the product from a few angles, the packaging, a texture or a place, and the model composes a scene that stays true to all of them.

When to use it

  • One photo can't show the product properly: it has several parts, it's a set, or it comes in several colours.
  • You want a particular setting or style, so you add a photo of it next to the product.
  • The video is long and you want the product to stay consistent the whole way through.

How many photos

VersionMaximum photosReal faces allowed
Seedance 2.09Yes
Seedance 2.530No

The counter on the panel shows how many you have left. Quality tiers compares the two versions in full.

Real faces on Seedance 2.5

Seedance 2.5 refuses photos that contain real human faces in this mode. The Generate page warns you first. Either switch to Seedance 2.0 or crop the person out. In both cases you need permission from anyone shown; see the Acceptable Use Policy.

Tips

  • Put the main product photo first, then the supporting ones.
  • Say what each photo is for in the brief: "use the third photo for the background".
  • Keep the set consistent: one lighting style and one colour, unless the variety is the point.
  • Write with AI reads every photo you attached.
